About the position

The Transformer Sales Manager at TECO Westinghouse is responsible for managing the sales activities of domestic sales, leading a sales team focused on Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), Distributors, and National Accounts. This position requires a solid background in selling oil-filled transformers and involves developing and implementing strategic sales plans that align with corporate goals. The role includes directing sales forecasting activities, setting performance goals, and reviewing market analyses to determine customer needs, pricing schedules, and discount rates. In addition to sales strategy, the Transformer Sales Manager will oversee staffing, training, and performance management of field sales personnel. This includes directing channel development activities, establishing sales territories, quotas, and goals, and advising dealers and distributors on sales and advertising techniques. The manager will also analyze sales statistics to formulate policies and assist dealers in promoting sales. The position requires regular interaction with key clients, assisting sales representatives in maintaining relationships, negotiating, and closing deals. The manager will represent the company at trade association meetings, deliver sales presentations, and coordinate liaison between the sales department and other related units. Furthermore, the role involves preparing reports for product General Managers, monitoring competition, and assisting in customer invoice collection. Travel to Taiwan and Indonesia for customer factory visits is also a requirement. Compliance with company policies, including ISO 9001 standards, is essential, as is the incorporation of the Standards of Excellence into daily activities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to accommodate corporate goals.
  • Direct sales forecasting activities and set performance goals accordingly.
  • Review market analyses to determine customer needs, price schedules, and discount rates.
  • Direct staffing, training, and performance management to develop and manage field sales personnel.
  • Direct channel development activity and coordinate sales distribution by establishing sales territories, quotas, and goals.
  • Advise dealers, distributors, and clients concerning sales and advertising techniques.
  • Assign sales territory to company sales representatives and manufacturers' representatives.
  • Analyze sales statistics to formulate policy and assist dealers in promoting sales.
  • Represent the company at trade association meetings to promote product.
  • Deliver sales presentations to key clients in coordination with sales representatives.
  • Meet with key clients, assisting sales representatives with maintaining relationships and negotiating and closing deals.
  • Personally manage relationships with key customers.
  • Coordinate liaison between sales department and other sales related units.
  • Present regional financials, strategies, and activities to the executive team and other stakeholders.
  • Promote teamwork between other sales regions and TWMC Headquarters.
  • Promote teamwork in 'cross border' opportunities with TECO-Westinghouse Motors Mexico and TECO-Westinghouse Motors Canada Inc.
  • Analyze and control expenditures of division to conform to budgetary requirements.
  • Oversee field sales offices to ensure proper and professional operations.
  • Assist other departments within the organization to prepare manuals and technical publications.
  • Prepare reports for product General Managers showing sales volume, potential sales, credit and areas of proposed existing customer base expansion and for new customer.
  • Request Grants of Authority (GOA) requests to product General Managers to promote customer requirements that exceed company policy.
  • Assist and provide sales report input for product research and development.
  • Monitor, evaluate and provide field intelligence for activities and products of the competition.
  • Assist in customer invoice collection.
  • Travel to Taiwan and Indonesia to support company related business including customer factory visits.

Requirements

  • Proven track record of successful sales in field sales positions dealing directly with customers.
  • Ability to use computer software programs of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to write reports and prepare presentations using Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; and five to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
