About the position

The Transit Senior Project Manager at Colliers Engineering & Design is a leadership role focused on developing business opportunities, managing client relationships, and overseeing rail engineering projects. This position involves planning, designing, and directing various rail engineering projects, ensuring they meet quality, budget, and timeline expectations. The role requires collaboration with project staff and clients, as well as participation in business development and marketing efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the success of the projects under management, including planning, quality assurance, deadlines, and financial aspects.
  • Coordinate the work and workload of project staff, including engineers, designers, and technicians.
  • Assist engineers, designers, and other project managers in design decision-making.
  • Monitor project costs to ensure delivery within budget and customer satisfaction.
  • Fulfill client manager role for clients in own discipline and market for other disciplines.
  • Prepare Project Work Plan, including Quality Plan, in conjunction with project team.
  • Prepare proposals including assumptions, scope of work, and budget.
  • Review invoice charges for accuracy related to hours billed.
  • Coordinate customer billing and invoicing with the Accounting Department.
  • Prepare monthly financial reports on project status.
  • Coordinate staff training and professional development.
  • Participate in outside organizations, events, and conferences on behalf of the company.
  • Market and cross-sell other company services in addition to Rail.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Civil Engineering.
  • 10+ years' experience in Track Design.
  • Transit agency experience required.
  • Prior experience with business development, client relations, and mentoring junior staff required.
  • Prior experience with Microstation, including InRoads and OpenRoads needed; AutoCAD experience is a plus.
  • In-depth knowledge of the regulatory permitting process for regions covered.
  • Professional Engineering license required; all candidates should qualify for licensure.
  • Ability to read, write and understand English for job-related communications.
