About the position

The Transit Tech Project Manager will oversee a complex, multi-year implementation of transit payment technology, which includes both physical equipment and software. This hybrid role requires strong project management skills and personal interactions with stakeholders, as the position involves significant client face-time and collaboration with various teams. The role is based in Baltimore, MD, and requires the candidate to be within a reasonable commuting distance to manage planned and short-notice meetings effectively.

Responsibilities

• Lead the implementation of transit payment technology projects, ensuring all phases and cutovers are executed flawlessly.
• Coordinate with various stakeholders, including software development teams and field engineering colleagues, to deliver project objectives.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively to meet client expectations.
• Facilitate communication between clients and project teams to ensure alignment and address any issues that arise.
• Provide organizational support to ensure project deliverables are met on time and within scope.

Requirements

• PMP Certification (PRINCE2 is also acceptable).
• 5-10 years of project management experience, with at least one project exceeding $10M in total value.
• Proximity to Baltimore, MD, within a 1.5-hour commute.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with public transportation agency technology implementations in transit, airport, port, DOT, roadway, tolling, etc.
