About the position
The Transition to Practice Fellowship at DispatchHealth is designed for recent graduates with advanced degrees in nursing or physician assistant training. This intensive nine-month program combines classroom learning with hands-on training under the mentorship of experienced healthcare professionals, preparing fellows to deliver high-quality, acute patient care and practice independently.
Responsibilities
- Participate in intensive classroom didactic and skills sessions.
- Receive one-on-one in-person training while caring for patients.
- Learn documentation best practices and receive coaching & mentoring.
- Engage in virtual case study work with cohort colleagues.
- Complete coursework on various medical topics including assessment and management of acute patients.
Requirements
- Recent graduate with an advanced degree from an accredited institution or less than 1 year of experience as a Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
- Current unrestricted state license as a Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
- Current nationally board certification.
- Current BLS required, ACLS certification preferred.
- Prescriptive authority and DEA (CSR and DEA state specific requirements).
- Two or more years' experience as a paramedic, RN (ED or ICU), or Flight Nurse preferred.
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
- Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to walk up and down several flights of stairs easily while carrying equipment.
- Ability to work a varied schedule with evenings, holidays, and weekends required.
Nice-to-haves
