About the position

The Translation Specialist plays a vital role in supporting the mission of Living on the Edge, which is to equip followers of Jesus to become disciple-makers. This position involves managing the translation and design processes for various discipleship resources, ensuring quality and timely delivery to support pastors and church leaders globally. The role requires a detail-oriented individual who can collaborate effectively with contractors and internal teams to produce high-quality translated materials.

Responsibilities

  • Find, recruit, and manage contractor translators and proofreaders in collaboration with Regional Directors.
  • Develop and manage a translation process to create print-ready resources in various languages.
  • Ensure quality control and quality assurance processes for translated materials.
  • Find, recruit, and manage contractor designers to integrate translated content into existing designs.
  • Deliver files to Regional Directors in a timely manner and provide support until resources are produced.
  • Negotiate and process compensation for translation contractors with the Finance department.
  • Catalog all translated resources digitally and ensure they are accessible to team members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, but not essential.
  • Prior experience in translation is required.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality control.
  • Ability to navigate multiple cultures and work styles effectively.
  • Proficient in Google and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Solid writing ability for internal communication.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior experience in a Christian ministry setting is preferred but not essential.
  • Knowledge of inDesign is preferred but not essential.
  • Experience with Asana project management software or similar applications is highly desired.
