About the position
The Transmission Technician role at Frontier Communications involves engaging with customers to provide solutions through telecommunications products and services. Technicians are expected to troubleshoot and repair equipment, mentor co-workers, and effectively communicate with customers to enhance service delivery. This position requires both inside and outside work, focusing on the maintenance and installation of telecommunications systems.
Responsibilities
- Communicate effectively on customer issues to eliminate repeat trouble calls.
- Mentor co-workers to expand knowledge and ensure self-motivation.
- Troubleshoot and repair Central Office programs and equipment.
- Install new equipment, software, and provision company products.
- Support, install, and repair company products and services.
- Repair switching equipment in the Central Office environment.
- Interpret and modify wiring and schematic diagrams and plant records.
- Utilize switch test equipment to repair, maintain, and install DMS 100/10/1, DCO, and remote offices.
- Troubleshoot, isolate, turn up, and repair existing and new company transmission circuits.
Requirements
- Four (4) years experience in telecommunications as a Testboard Technician.
- Three (3) years of experience in switch programming, splicing, or outside plant maintenance.
- High School graduate or GED.
- Valid CA driver's license and clean driving record.

- Experience in customer service dispatch and/or workload routing.
