About the position

The Transplant Coordinator will be responsible for receiving, evaluating, and summarizing cadaver organ donor information for transplant recipients. This role involves assisting physicians and surgeons in the allocation of available cadaver organs for transplant patients, specifically for liver, kidney, pancreas, and heart transplants, with potential future involvement in lung transplants. The coordinator will also handle organ offers and be available for primary call, along with participating in special projects as directed by administration.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and evaluate cadaver organ donor information from UNOS and local OPOS.
  • Summarize donor information for transplant recipients.
  • Assist physicians and surgeons in the allocation of available cadaver organs.
  • Field organ offers for liver, kidney, pancreas, and heart transplants.
  • Be available for primary call and provide backup as needed.
  • Participate in special projects involving UNOS and recipient data.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNLC Multistate License.
  • Four (4) years of nursing experience required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Two years of critical care/procurement experience preferred.
