About the position

The Transplant Financial Advisor Supervisor is responsible for overseeing financial assistance practices for patients within the health system. This role involves supervising employee workflow and performance, ensuring adherence to financial policies, and providing leadership to front-line staff. The supervisor collaborates with multiple departments to ensure quality service and compliance with ethical standards.

Responsibilities

• Oversees financial advisor functions including contacting patients and payers, and referring accounts to Financial Counselors.
• Provides relief coverage for supervisors and employees during planned or emergent absences.
• Assists with Human Resource management functions including interviewing, selection, and performance evaluation.
• Acts as a resource for day-to-day operations, collecting various types of insurance and ensuring compliance with regulations.
• Coordinates screening of financially unsponsored patients and assists in payment resolution.
• Serves as a liaison between patients, families, and healthcare personnel, addressing complaints and providing information.
• Monitors daily work queues of unsecured accounts and follows up with staff to meet goals.
• Ensures staff assist walk-in customers and those calling for assistance.
• Checks equipment for repair needs and ensures adequate supplies for employees.
• Performs related assignments as requested by management.

Requirements

• Associates Degree in a related field from an accredited college or university.
• 5 or more years of experience in financial advising, claims processing, or patient accounting.
• 2 or more years of lead or supervisory experience.

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelors Degree in a related field from an accredited college or university.
• 4 or more years of experience in Epic.
• 6 or more years of CPT-4 and HCPCS coding experience.
• 3 or more years of experience working in Microsoft Word and Excel.
