About the position

The Transplant Quality Data Analyst at Rush University Medical Center is responsible for collecting, reporting, and performing statistical analysis of data to support the quality and regulatory initiatives of the transplant program. This role involves collaborating with the University Transplant Program (UTP) team to interpret data results, generate reports, and provide recommendations for quality improvement. The Analyst plays a crucial role in ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and enhancing the overall performance of the transplant program.

Responsibilities

  • Uses statistical approaches to analyze data from multiple sources and synthesizes results into meaningful reports and presentations.
  • Provides support in the development, implementation, oversight, and analysis of current and envisioned UTP projects designed to support the Organ Transplant Program's regulatory compliance and performance improvement goals.
  • Participates in UTP performance improvement initiatives, case reviews, root cause analysis, and site surveys.
  • Coordinates data management including collection, entry, manipulation, analysis, and reporting.
  • Coordinates and prepares reports for internal and external audiences.
  • Obtains, analyzes, and reports benchmarking and other data to improve or evaluate the transplant program's progress towards goals and regulatory compliance.
  • Coordinates and reports data at the weekly quality assessment and performance improvement committee meeting with UTP leadership.
  • Generates and distributes reports and customizes reports requested by internal departments and outside regulatory agencies.
  • Provides analysis and interpretation of information to offer options for improvement based on data recommendations.
  • Supports requests for all external regulatory agencies and accrediting entities, such as UNOS.
  • Creates ad-hoc reports and data extracts required for statistical reporting for clinical transplant and ongoing projects.
  • Abstracts information that supports operations, quality, and research.
  • Provides outcome and volume data, quality assurance measures.
  • Maintains and facilitates further development of data for medical faculty, clinicians, and UTP leadership.
  • Responsible for the organization and analysis of data in support of process improvement initiatives for various clinical area programs.
  • Develops and generates outcomes reports and disseminates them to applicable parties.
  • Responsible for data collection and validation for various reports/projects on an ongoing basis.
  • Performs audits, data verification, report generation, and meets reporting requirements for UNOS and other regulatory bodies.
  • Assists during site surveys providing requested documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • At least four years of relevant data analysis experience required.
  • Strong evidence-based analytical approach to problem solving and ability to make recommendations for improvements.
  • Experience with continuous quality improvement, outcomes management, customer satisfaction, and regulatory standards for information management strongly preferred.
  • Understanding of concepts in methodology, data collection, and analyses.
  • Knowledge of Performance Improvement methodology and Outcomes Management.
  • Statistical analysis skills.
  • Demonstrated problem solving, data assembly, and action planning ability leading to the development of action plans that achieve measurable objectives.
  • Proficient with medical terminology.
  • Knowledgeable in database rules, writing queries, and relational database creation and management.
  • Proficient in the use of statistical software and techniques in the analysis and interpretation of complex data sets.
  • Ability to collaborate in cross-functional and interdisciplinary quality improvement teams at every level of the medical center.
  • Advanced ability to create summary reports using statistical tools, charts, and graphs.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience using Epic.
  • Understanding of transplant specific CMS regulations and UNOS regulations/data requirements.
  • Solid organ transplant experience.
