About the position
The position involves transporting patients, specimens, and equipment throughout Frye Regional Medical Center, ensuring safe and efficient movement within the facility. The role is crucial for supporting patient care and assisting staff in various transport-related tasks.
Responsibilities
- Transport patients via wheelchair, stretcher, or bed to designated sites as requested.
- Assist patients with entering and exiting vehicles, including transfers from or to wheelchairs or stretchers.
- Deliver equipment and specimens to requesting staff or departments.
- Assist staff with the removal of deceased bodies from units and transport them to the morgue.
- Greet and provide information and direction to patients and visitors.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification preferred.
