About the position

The Transportation Business Operations Manager at Kuehne Chemical Company, Inc. is a full-time, exempt position located in Kearny, NJ. This role is pivotal in gathering and analyzing transportation data, optimizing routes, and managing vendor contracts to ensure both cost-effectiveness and operational efficiency. The manager will be responsible for ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and filings to local and federal government agencies. A strong understanding of data analytics, contract management, and transportation operations is essential for success in this role. In collaboration with the Transportation Department's leadership team, sales, and customer service, the Transportation Business Operations Manager will drive data-driven decision-making and support strategic initiatives. The position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities but involves collaboration with various stakeholders, including the Transportation Operations and Safety Manager and the Fleet Maintenance Supervisor. The role requires the development and maintenance of key performance indicators (KPIs) related to transportation operations and contracts, as well as providing regular reports and insights to the Director of Transportation and senior management. The manager will also be responsible for monitoring compliance with documentation protocols for CDL holders and ensuring timely renewals of contracts and compliance with industry regulations.

Responsibilities

• Analyze transportation data to identify trends, optimize routes, and enhance overall efficiency and safety.
• Manage and oversee transportation and vendor contracts, ensuring compliance and cost-effectiveness.
• Collaborate with the Transportation Leadership team to align data analytics insights with operational strategies.
• Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) related to transportation operations and contracts.
• Provide regular reports and insights to the Director of Transportation and senior management.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to streamline contract processes and negotiations.
• Manage contracts, ensuring timely renewals, compliance, and cost-effective partnerships.
• Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and best practices in data analytics and contract management.
• Monitor, manage, and maintain D.Q. files for all CDL holders in the Company striving for 100% compliance.
• Notify Kuehne Company CDL holders and their managers in advance of expiration dates of various documents, facilitate and coordinate renewal procedures.
• Ensure full CDL driver compliance with paperwork protocols.
• Maintain computer-based training files/records.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Business, or a related field.
• Proven experience in Data Analytics and/or Contract Management.
• Familiarity in transportation management.
• Advanced skills in business intelligence tools and techniques including Power BI.
• Excellent experience with Microsoft Excel.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
• Understanding of contract management principles.
• Effective negotiation and contract management abilities.
• Familiarity with transportation and logistics operations.
• Familiarity with the chemical manufacturing industry and processes is a plus.
• Must be able to pass a 10-panel controlled substance testing and random testing after that.
• Must be able to pass a background investigation check and maintain in good standing order, as per TSA's TWIC criteria.
