About the position

Stantec is seeking a full-time, talented, team-focused CAD Designer to join our transportation group, primarily focused on transportation infrastructure projects. This position offers a variety of designer, drafting, and modeling opportunities that are essential for driving forth our economies and societies. As a CAD Designer, you will be responsible for producing civil drawings and 3-dimensional models using Bentley InRoads/OpenRoads. You will also organize and maintain a digital file database for each project using Bentley ProjectWise software. Your role will involve utilizing your knowledge of tools and drafting to complete assigned tasks, including 2D and 3D model development, design changes, general arrangement drawing production, redlining, plotting, and drafting using CAD platforms. In this position, you will facilitate and ensure the quality of the drawings and graphic work produced for the team, while also communicating effectively with other team members during the 3D model and plan production. Understanding ProjectWise file structures and making necessary modifications for exchanges with other team members will be crucial. You will be tasked with the creation of roadway alignments, profiles, templates, and corridors, as well as CAD surface and digital terrain modeling. It is essential to ensure that CAD standards and styles, as well as quality assurance and quality control procedures, are followed during drawing planning and production. Meeting project schedules will be a key aspect of your responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Produce civil drawings and 3-dimensional models in Bentley InRoads/OpenRoads.
• Organize and maintain a digital file database for each project using Bentley ProjectWise software.
• Complete assigned tasks including 2D and 3D model development, design changes, general arrangement drawing production, redlining, plotting, and drafting using CAD platforms.
• Facilitate and ensure the quality of the drawings and graphic work produced for the team.
• Communicate with other team members during the 3D model and plan production.
• Understand ProjectWise file structures and modifications to files for exchanges with other team members.
• Create roadway alignments, profiles, templates, and corridors.
• Perform CAD surface and digital terrain modeling.
• Ensure CAD standards and styles, quality assurance and quality control procedures are followed during drawing planning and production.
• Work to meet project schedules.

Requirements

• Experience with civil infrastructure projects - roadway, utility, and rail projects highly desirable.
• Proficiency in Bentley InRoads/Open Roads.
• Strong attention to detail and presentation.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with a 'team player' approach to design and problem solving.
• Ability to work within a team, sharing workloads to meet deadlines.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office products.
• Associates or Technical Degree.
• 5 years of CAD experience.
