The Transportation Coordinator / Dispatch Head of Operations is a leadership role at Tri-State Medical Group, responsible for overseeing the daily operations of medical transportation services. This position focuses on optimizing routes, managing dispatch processes, and supervising transportation personnel to ensure efficient and timely service delivery. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and be available on-call to address urgent operational needs.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily dispatch and coordination of emergency medical transport services.
• Optimize and adjust transportation routes to ensure timely and efficient service.
• Supervise and manage BLS (Basic Life Support) managers and MAVO (Mobility Assistance Vehicle Operators) supervisors, ensuring they are performing their roles effectively and optimizing all routes.
• Provide leadership and direction to ensure managers and field staff are meeting performance expectations.
• Coordinate with EMTs and drivers to address operational issues, route changes, and service adjustments in real time.
• Monitor and maintain communication with field staff, ensuring all transport vehicles are properly staffed and on schedule.
• Develop and implement strategies to improve overall transportation efficiency and customer satisfaction.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and state/federal transportation guidelines.
• Collaborate with the operations team to resolve logistical challenges and improve workflow.
• Be available on-call to handle urgent issues and provide support during peak times or emergencies.

Requirements

• Proven experience in a transportation coordination, dispatch, or logistics management role.
• Strong management and leadership skills to effectively oversee managers and supervisors.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Ability to optimize routes and manage transportation schedules for multiple locations.
• Effective communication skills for managing teams and resolving issues in real time.
• Knowledge of local transportation regulations and compliance requirements.
• Familiarity with dispatch software and technology for tracking and optimizing operations.
• Flexibility to be on-call and manage urgent operational needs.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in the medical transportation or healthcare industry.
• EMT or MAVO certification (preferred but not required).
• Experience managing BLS services and teams.
