About the position

The Transportation Coordinator/Driver is responsible for safely loading, transporting, and unloading patients for medical appointments and activity outings, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Life Care standards. This role requires excellent customer service skills and the ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

  • Safely load, transport, and unload patients for medical appointments and activities.
  • Complete pre-inspections before the use of the vehicle.
  • Monitor regular vehicle maintenance such as oil changes and tire rotations.
  • Make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
  • Implement and interpret departmental programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintain professional working relationships with associates and vendors.
  • Ensure confidentiality of all proprietary and confidential information.
  • Adhere to company policies including harassment and compliance procedures.
  • Exhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards patients.
  • Assist in the evacuation of patients.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Valid driver's license or valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Prior experience in health care or geriatrics preferred.
  • Knowledge of practices and procedures governing functions in a post-acute care facility.

  • Experience in geriatrics or healthcare settings.
