About the position
The Transportation Coordinator/Driver is responsible for safely loading, transporting, and unloading patients for medical appointments and activity outings, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Life Care standards. This part-time role requires excellent customer service skills and the ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team.
Responsibilities
- Safely load, transport, and unload patients for medical appointments and activities.
- Complete pre-inspections before the use of the vehicle.
- Monitor regular maintenance of the vehicle, including oil changes and tire rotations.
- Make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
- Implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the department.
- Exhibit excellent customer service and maintain a positive attitude towards patients.
- Assist in the evacuation of patients when necessary.
- Demonstrate dependable and regular attendance.
- Communicate effectively and function productively on an interdisciplinary team.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license or valid commercial driver's license (CDL) in the current state with a satisfactory driving record.
- Prior experience in health care or geriatrics preferred.
Nice-to-haves
- Knowledge of practices and procedures governing functions in a post-acute care facility.
- Ability to maintain professional working relationships with associates and vendors.
