About the position
The Transportation Coordinator serves as the primary liaison between contracted carriers, retail stores, and distribution centers. This role is essential for tracking and tracing carriers daily, ensuring timely deliveries, and managing communication regarding service issues. The coordinator is responsible for preparing reports, auditing schedules, and handling customer service inquiries, contributing to the overall efficiency of transportation operations.
Responsibilities
- Be the primary point of contact for contracted carriers, retail stores, and distribution centers.
- Track and trace carriers on a daily basis.
- Proactively follow up as needed to achieve desired service levels.
- Communicate any potential service issues to the appropriate parties (i.e., supervisor, carrier, store).
- Follow up with stores to ensure specialized deliveries occur on time.
- Tender outbound loads to contracted carriers using TMS (E2Open) when necessary.
- Prepare various intermediate-to-advanced reports utilizing Microsoft Excel.
- Audit schedules for carriers and deliveries to ensure accuracy.
- Manage customer service hotline calls and troubleshoot issues.
- Complete other responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
- Experience in transportation coordination or logistics management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including intermediate to advanced reporting skills.
- Strong communication skills to liaise with various stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) such as E2Open.
- Knowledge of supply chain operations.
