The Transportation Coordinator at Chewy plays a vital role in ensuring timely and damage-free shipment of customer orders from the Fulfillment Center in Wilkes-Barre, PA. This position involves understanding the freight process, collaborating with operations and delivery vendors, and auditing shipment processes to enhance delivery success. Responsibilities

  • Ensures that freight is loaded accurately in trailers for shipment to customers.
  • Partners with Operations and local delivery vendors to adjust processes for 100% delivery success.
  • Familiar with the sorter process and audits packages for accuracy.
  • Works with Scheduler to ensure timely delivery of trailers and proper prioritization in the yard.
  • Acts as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on the shipment process and collaborates with Operations for success.
  • Audits the process and documents delivery issues, working with Operations and transportation for solutions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 1 to 3 years of warehouse/distribution experience, preferably related to outbound shipments.
  • Strong written, verbal, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to operate efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel and Outlook is required.
  • Ecommerce background is a plus.
  • Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 65 lbs, and bend safely and repetitively.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and carry out simple instructions from oral or written correspondence.
  • Good communicator and active listener.
  • Aligns with all company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
  • High level of professionalism and strong work ethic.
  • Ability to adjust to sudden changes in customer demands or operational goals.
  • Ability to plan, schedule tasks, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Follows quality and performance standards.
