As a Transportation Coordinator at Crate & Barrel, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth execution of store and home delivery center deliveries. Your responsibilities will include developing accurate shipping plans and schedules, optimizing transportation logistics, and managing return logistics, especially during peak seasons. You will be expected to consistently deliver operational performance against established Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and budgetary constraints, performing root-cause analysis as necessary and creating action plans to address performance issues. In this role, you will support the Transportation Manager in various tasks, including yard staffing, scheduling, and managing inbound and outbound transportation responsibilities. You will interact with Field Leadership, Store Operations, Loss Prevention, and transportation providers to ensure that Crate & Barrel's service standards are met. Additionally, you will be responsible for planning and communicating truck capacity requirements, ensuring a steady flow of inbound and outbound movements, and maximizing the utilization of the lowest-cost carriers. Your position will also involve providing guidance and training to other Transportation Coordinators when applicable, auditing the Yard Management System for accuracy, and building a comprehensive understanding of the Transportation Management Systems to design, test, and implement new configurations that drive efficiencies. You will gather and maintain master data related to Transportation and Logistics and support outbound transportation projects and initiatives as assigned. Creating and following Standard Operating Process (SOP) guides for outbound activities will also be part of your responsibilities, along with providing direction for miscellaneous outbound shipments such as RTVs, misroutes, and FedEx deliveries.
