About the position

This is maintenance and personal services work of a supervisory nature in overseeing a crew of Welder/Fabricators engaged in structure and craft work in welding and the fabrication, modification, maintenance, and repair of a variety of metal objects, fixtures, and heavy duty trucks and equipment associated with construction-related jobs. Responsibilities include planning, assigning, supervising, and inspecting a variety of maintenance projects; keeping administrative records and developing budgets and reports; and monitoring materials and supplies and use of proper safety precautions. Preference will be given to those with an American Welding Society Certification, computer skills, and knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee a crew of Welder/Fabricators in welding and fabrication work.
  • Plan, assign, supervise, and inspect maintenance projects.
  • Keep administrative records and develop budgets and reports.
  • Monitor materials and supplies and ensure proper safety precautions.

Requirements

  • A four (4) year combination of training, experience, and education in highway, bridge, and equipment repair and maintenance and/or construction.
  • At least one (1) year of lead worker experience.
  • Valid Class C driver's license with the ability to obtain a Class A license within probationary period.
  • Completion of the 30 hour OSHA Safety course in construction (20 CFR Part 1926).
