Responsibilities

  • Manage construction projects of various sizes.
  • Oversee construction methods for roadways, bridges, and related structures.
  • Coordinate with local agencies and stakeholders.
  • Conduct pre-construction meetings and public hearings.
  • Drive to project locations for on-site engineering reviews and analyses.
  • Monitor consultants' progress and work quality.
  • Review shop drawings, plans, specifications, and change order requests.
  • Resolve differences between contractors and inspectors.
  • Assist in overseeing contracts and issuing work orders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related science accepted by TX PELS.
  • Valid driver's license at the time of application.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer / TX Lic Prof Engr.
  • 4 years of engineering experience for Transportation Engineer I.
  • 5 years of engineering experience for Transportation Engineer II.
  • 6 years of engineering experience for Transportation Engineer III.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in transportation engineering or related fields.
  • Strong public relations skills for maintaining effective working relationships.
  • Ability to perform calculations for material and labor estimates.
