About the position

The Transportation Engineer I position at Ardurra involves performing design engineering tasks under general supervision. This role is aimed at recent graduates or those with limited experience, providing an opportunity to work on projects that enhance community infrastructure. The position focuses on assisting project engineers with roadway and highway construction plans, utilizing CADD software, and engaging in various design and analysis tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Engineers in the design and development of roadway and highway construction contract plans using CADD software.
• Assist in the identification of construction pay items and computation of quantities and opinions of costs.
• Assist in the preparation of construction specifications and specification packages.
• Develop and analyze feasible design alternatives comparing parameters such as typical sections and alignments.
• Perform standard computations and analysis and research assignments.
• Attend design meetings and coordinate with team members.
• Prepare letters, memorandums, reports, spreadsheets, power point presentations, and project schedules.
• Document design decisions.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited institution.
• Engineer Intern Certification or ability to obtain within 6 months from date of hire.
• 0-2 years of experience.
• Some experience with CADD software is preferred.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with MicroStation and OpenRoads Designer.
