About the position

The Transportation Engineer - Roadway Design/Project Manager at Civil Design, Inc. is responsible for designing and planning roadway and highway projects, including ADA-compliant sidewalks and multi-use facilities. This role involves collaborating with project leaders and engineers to develop effective solutions while mentoring team members. The position requires strong technical skills in transportation engineering and a commitment to quality and client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Design and plan production of roadway, highway, ADA-compliant sidewalk, and multi-use facilities.
• Review and provide roadway design elements including horizontal and vertical alignments, cross sections, intersection layout, drainage design, pedestrian facility design, utilities conflict and relocations, and other roadway design tasks.
• Work collaboratively with CDI leaders and other Project Engineers to develop effective project solutions.
• Mentor and teach team members.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from a four-year college or university; PE strongly encouraged.
• 6 - 18 years of experience in transportation engineering and roadway design.
• Strong technical skills in roadway drainage design.
• Experience with Open Roads Designer (ORD).
• Proficiency with MicroStation.
• Experience with Highway/Roadway Plan Production.
• Experience working with governmental clients in Missouri and/or Illinois.
