About the position
The Transportation Field Supervisor - Dispatch at Peoria Public Schools District 150 is responsible for planning, developing, organizing, implementing, and managing the day-to-day operations of the transportation department. This role involves assisting with planning and scheduling, providing support to dispatchers, and ensuring compliance with transportation regulations and policies.
Responsibilities
- Create, implement, and maintain training for dispatchers.
- Operate, maintain, and respond to two-way radio and telephone communications regarding transportation operations.
- Advise and assist bus drivers in resolving routine service problems and emergency situations.
- Assign and notify bus drivers of assignments, changes, and monitor attendance.
- Respond to inquiries and make presentations regarding vehicle codes and district policies.
- Prepare, maintain, and distribute information for data reporting and retrieval.
- Drive any type and size bus for scheduled or unscheduled service as required.
- Monitor route books and inspect sheets for accuracy.
- Coordinate maintenance and replacement of off-line buses with maintenance staff.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- 2 years of school bus driving experience.
- Mid-level school bus endorsement.
- Dispatching driver's license.
