About the position

The Transportation Field Supervisor - Dispatch at Peoria Public Schools District 150 is responsible for planning, developing, organizing, implementing, and managing the day-to-day operations of the transportation department. This role involves assisting with planning and scheduling, providing support to dispatchers, and ensuring compliance with transportation regulations and policies.

Responsibilities

  • Create, implement, and maintain training for dispatchers.
  • Operate, maintain, and respond to two-way radio and telephone communications regarding transportation operations.
  • Advise and assist bus drivers in resolving routine service problems and emergency situations.
  • Assign and notify bus drivers of assignments, changes, and monitor attendance.
  • Respond to inquiries and make presentations regarding vehicle codes and district policies.
  • Prepare, maintain, and distribute information for data reporting and retrieval.
  • Drive any type and size bus for scheduled or unscheduled service as required.
  • Monitor route books and inspect sheets for accuracy.
  • Coordinate maintenance and replacement of off-line buses with maintenance staff.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 2 years of school bus driving experience.
  • Mid-level school bus endorsement.
  • Dispatching driver's license.
