About the position

The Transportation Logistics Coordinator at Speedway is responsible for developing and executing the daily fuel delivery schedule for SWTO. This role involves collaborating with both internal and external partners to meet customer needs, with a strong emphasis on inventory management and fuel supply execution. The position requires effective communication and coordination to ensure timely fuel deliveries and compliance with regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor fuel inventory levels and develop fuel delivery schedules based on customer inventory requirements.
  • Coordinate, plan, and schedule fuel supply sourcing based on customer needs and contractual obligations.
  • Assign fuel deliveries to SWTO drivers using transportation management systems (TMS) to maximize payload and optimize resources.
  • Ensure driver resources are maximized to meet company objectives of safety, efficiency, and reliability.
  • Provide timely communication to internal and external partners regarding fuel delivery matters and potential inventory disruptions.
  • Identify gaps between business demands and resource availability, coordinating with supervisors for carrier support.
  • Monitor and update fuel deliveries in TMS to ensure timeframes are met and all delivery activity is captured for billing.
  • Coordinate with customers for additional workloads when driver resources exceed business demands.
  • Provide frontline support for drivers and resolve loading or unloading issues.
  • Adjust resource schedules to accommodate vehicle repairs and communicate issues with Fleet Maintenance & Reliability Supervisors.
  • Maintain knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations, including FMCSR and DOT guidelines.
  • Communicate critical events to management and complete other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED with relevant experience; Associate's Degree in logistics or Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Preferred experience with transportation management systems (TMS) and fuel forecasting applications.
  • Demonstrated expertise with Microsoft Word, Excel, and other MS Office applications.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to research and resolve issues.
  • Good understanding of intra-department functions and operations.
  • Strong collaboration, teamwork, and leadership skills.
  • Positive, professional attitude and adaptability to change.
  • Ability to perform repeated bending, standing, and reaching; ability to occasionally lift up to 40 pounds.
