Responsibilities

• Supervises assigned employees and establishes operational plans.
• Develops short-range plans to implement policies and establish work priorities.
• Coordinates equipment needs and establishes standard operating procedures (SOP).
• Evaluates work unit practices and recommends long-term changes.
• Coordinates budget reviews and authorizes expenditures.
• Maintains contract compliance and oversees personal service contracts.
• Provides technical advice to staff regarding material and manpower costs.
• Assures accuracy of data entered into the Transportation Management System (TMS).
• Operates vehicles to inspect highways and determine maintenance needs.
• Schedules equipment maintenance and inspects equipment for proper operation.

Requirements

• 12 months of training or experience in supervisory principles and techniques or management.
• 6 months of training or experience in inventory control.
• Valid driver license and 3 years of training or experience in highway maintenance and associated safety practices.
• Ability to operate motor vehicles and heavy motorized equipment.
