About the position

The Transportation Operations Specialist (Motor) position is a part-time role based in Oklahoma City, OK, focused on managing and coordinating fleet operations for government-owned or commercial motor vehicles. The role involves responsibilities such as vehicle assignment, maintenance, compliance evaluation, and customer service, with opportunities for professional development as duties progress through various grade levels.

Responsibilities

  • Receives, prepares for assignment, and assigns or delivers new replacement vehicles to assigned customer activity locations.
  • Coordinates a vehicle rotation program by reviewing utilization patterns to achieve maximum efficiency and economy of fleet operations.
  • Participates in the initiation of vehicle procurement action on replacement and additional vehicles based on established replacement standards.
  • Ensures GSA Fleet new replacement vehicles are received, prepared for assignment, and assigned or delivered to customer locations under guidance.
  • Assists in determining vehicle repair and maintenance needs and provides initial recommendations to restore vehicles to good operating condition.
  • Evaluates compliance with regulatory, legislative, and GSA Fleet policy requirements.
  • Reviews, measures, and recommends improvements in practices and procedures relating to customer service and cost control.
  • Analyzes program areas to identify weaknesses or opportunities for improvement.
  • Provides maintenance and repair services, including body and mechanical repair, glass replacement, towing, and emergency roadside services.

Requirements

  • US Citizenship or National (Residents of American Samoa and Swains Island)
  • Valid State Driver's License
  • One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level or higher in the federal service, or a Master's degree or equivalent graduate degree, or a combination of graduate level education and appropriate experience.
  • For GS-11: One year of specialized experience at the GS-09 level or higher in the federal service, or a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or a combination of graduate level education and appropriate experience.
