The Transportation Operations Technician I position is a temporary role within the Agency of Transportation, focused on assisting with winter maintenance tasks such as plowing and salting. The role requires working in extreme outdoor conditions and may involve considerable overtime, especially during winter months.

Responsibilities

• Assist with plowing and salting during winter months.
• Work an average of 40 hours per week, with potential for overtime.
• Report to work outside of regular area/work schedule as needed.
• Operate tools and equipment commonly used for maintenance work.
• Lift materials used in maintenance work.

Requirements

• Ability to work in extreme outdoor weather conditions.
• Must be reachable by phone for work-related communications.
• Participation in a random drug and alcohol-testing program is required prior to operating vehicles or equipment.
• Ability to work considerable overtime, particularly during winter months.
