About the position

The Transportation Portfolio Coordinator at Jacobs plays a crucial role in supporting Project Managers and delivery teams in the execution of various transportation projects and programs. This position involves project administration, technical writing, stakeholder communication, and financial tracking, all aimed at ensuring quality delivery and alignment with business goals in the Chicago metropolitan area.

Responsibilities

  • Support Project Managers with scope/schedule/budget development, program/project initiation, work plans, quality plans, and developing monthly reports.
  • Technical writing and editing of reports and manuals for project deliverables.
  • Provide communication and stakeholder/public outreach support as applicable to various project scopes.
  • Lead mentor-protégé programs with minority partners that are part of contracted obligations on projects.
  • Develop monthly status reports and invoice packages for clients, supporting monthly financial project reviews.
  • Support the subcontract process by developing internal documentation and facilitating approvals and communication with subcontractors.
  • Provide Services During Construction (SDC) support, including project document control and routing documents to project team members and stakeholders.
  • Develop risk assessment tools for projects and work with project teams on risk mitigation strategies.
  • Support account teams with business goal growth strategies, including client account plan updates and meeting preparations.
  • Assist with the proposal process for local clients.
  • Maintain good standing with the client regarding prequalification and financials.
  • Demonstrate strong familiarity with the Chicago Transportation market and local portfolio.

Requirements

  • Substantial years of experience in the Architecture and Engineering industry, with at least five years focused on transportation, transit, or rail markets and projects.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to clearly convey work instructions, deadlines, priorities, and risks.
  • Strong user of Microsoft suite of products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project desired).
  • Understanding of local clients' procurement processes.
  • Organized, dependable, self-motivated, and able to perform tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to travel when needed, approximately 10% required.
