About the position

Arcadis is seeking a Transportation Project-Surveyor for our growing Mobility team in Tennessee. This position is office based (Chattanooga, Nashville or Knoxville) with an opportunity to transition to remote work upon establishing solid job performance. Collaborating with other experienced transportation engineers and survey professionals, you will complete survey quality reviews for transportation projects of various sizes. This position involves comprehensive review of survey deliverables for Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) design projects for overall quality and for compliance with survey standards, OpenRoads Designer (ORD) standards and all other TDOT standards and procedures as detailed in the various TDOT manuals, documents and web sites.

Responsibilities

  • Leading project teams in completing quality reviews of TDOT surveys utilizing OpenRoads Designer (ORD), Microsoft Office and other software as needed.
  • Communicating and coordinating with other consultants, partners, and clients.
  • Collaborating with other engineering and survey disciplines during the ORD review process.
  • Assisting on other projects assigned and work with other Arcadis offices as needed.
  • Adhering to Arcadis' practices including quality and safety standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in surveying, civil engineering, civil engineering technology or a related field, or Associate of Science (AS) Associate of Applied Science degree (AAS) in a related field.
  • One year of CADD experience or demonstrated proficiency with ORD.
  • Experience with TopoDOT software and extraction for DOT type projects.
  • Attention to detail regarding ORD and TDOT standards, schedules, and budgets.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools and ability to quickly learn the use of software.
  • Ability and willingness to continually learn, grow, develop and to supervise and mentor other staff.
  • Familiarity with various land survey processes and procedures.
  • A client-focused attitude.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with LiDAR/LASER scanning processing and extraction.
  • PE, EIT, or LSIT licensure status or the ability to obtain.
  • Familiarity with TDOT roadway design plans and procedures.
  • Familiarity with TDOT ORD standards and procedures as described in the various TDOT manuals.
