About the position

The Transportation Services Sales and Business Development Representative at AEXGroup is responsible for discovering, qualifying, developing, and closing new business opportunities in the transportation services sector. This role involves proactive lead pursuit and research to identify potential customers, leveraging the company's logistics services to meet their needs. The representative will work closely with various internal teams to ensure excellent customer service and achieve revenue goals.

Responsibilities

  • Develop an understanding of target markets for revenue generation.
  • Discover new opportunities through research and tools like CRM and LinkedIn Sales Navigator.
  • Determine customer needs and provide solutions using company service offerings.
  • Conduct methodical campaigns to penetrate target customers and build relationships.
  • Ensure proper internal follow-up and cross-department communication for customer service.
  • Address and resolve customer issues in a timely manner.
  • Meet established customer qualification and revenue goal metrics.
  • Participate in sales forecasting and planning by maintaining account information.
  • Monitor, analyze, and communicate sales data for product/service planning.
  • Maintain professional communication with staff and customers.
  • Keep manager informed of all activities.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Customer Service, IT, and Finance teams on new business opportunities.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Experience selling transportation services within the logistics industry required.
  • 2+ years of customer-facing direct sales experience with an emphasis on new business development.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to build trusting relationships with customers.
  • Client-focused with dedication to providing best-in-class customer service.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task effectively.
  • Demonstrate integrity, reliability, and accountability.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with exposure to the 'Last Mile' / courier segment preferred.
  • 1 year of customer service experience preferred.
