About the position

The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the Minot AFB motor vehicle Fleet Manager, directing functions of Vehicle Control, Vehicle Analysis, Maintenance Control and Analysis, Material Control, Registered Equipment Management Systems, Vehicle Buy Program, and to serve as the vehicle custodian for the Minot AFB registered government motor vehicle account.

Responsibilities

  • Manages the base motor Vehicle Fleet program and Nuclear Certified Equipment (NCE).
  • Performs Fleet Vehicle Management Control and Analysis; plans, schedules, monitors and analyzes maintenance requirements for vehicle assets assigned to Minot AFB.
  • Complies with Wing Annual Motor Vehicle Requirement. Personally responsible to analyze, compile and prioritize 5 Bomb Wing and 91 Missile Wing vehicle replacement program.
  • Manages 5 Bomb Wing and 91 Missile Wing Vehicle Lease Program. Works independently as the installation main focal point for 60 lease vehicles between Minot AFB and General Services Administration (GSA).
  • Coordinates the expediting of material; the functions of which are to perform logistic duties involving the requisitioning of material and the delivery of appropriate materials to shop personnel or holding areas.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship Required
  • Males must be registered for Selective Service
  • A valid state driver's license is required for picking-up and delivery of replacement vehicles.
  • This position is a 'key' position and must not be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization.
  • This position has been designated as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program.

  • Knowledge of transportation principles, theory, policies and procedures that impact large fleet management.
  • Technical knowledge of vehicle maintenance and operations data system.
  • Knowledge and skill in applying analytical and evaluative techniques to the identification, consideration and resolution of issues or problems.
  • Working knowledge of budget planning, preparation and execution.
