About the position

We are looking for a Transportation Specialist to join our Case Ready team here at JBS USA in Greeley, CO! This position is crucial as it involves responding to and tracking notifications of daily carrier deliveries to customers. The Transportation Specialist will have direct contact with various stakeholders including customers, truck lines, plant personnel, sales teams, field representatives, and claims departments. The primary responsibility of this role is to act as a mediator between the carriers and internal personnel, ensuring that any issues are resolved efficiently and effectively. In this role, you will be responsible for tracking and ensuring that all loads arrive and depart from shippers and customers on time. You will manage external warehouse inventory, shipping, and invoicing, while also advising the plant and sales teams about drivers' schedules, load delays, drop trailers, and appointment scheduling. Problem-solving will be a key aspect of your job, especially when load routes conflict. You will also manage and review carrier performance regarding on-time delivery and build strong relationships with key carriers and plant facilities. As part of your responsibilities, you will need to learn new business areas as necessary to improve carrier on-time delivery and reduce costs. Communication of JBS guidelines to the appropriate parties is essential, as is maintaining drop trailer and plant trailer pools. You will assist claims in resolving transportation issues and will be on call via cell phone to address any transportation or carrier issues that may arise. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Track and ensure all loads arrive and depart to/from shipper and customer on time
  • Manage external warehouses inventory, shipping and invoicing
  • Advise plant and sales team about drivers' schedules, load delays, drop trailers, appointment scheduling, etc.
  • Problem solve when load routes are conflicting
  • Manage and review carrier performance of on-time delivery
  • Respond to and build relationships with your key carriers and plant facilities
  • Learn new business areas as needed to improve carrier on time delivery and reduce costs
  • Communicate the JBS guidelines to appropriate parties
  • Maintain drop trailer and plant trailer pools
  • Assist claims in resolution of transportation of product
  • Be on call, via cell phone, to deal with transportation or carrier issues that may arise
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Minimum high school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Professional Communication Skills: phone, computer, face-to-face
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills is preferred
  • Prior experience in the transportation industry is preferred
  • Must be willing to work occasional overtime, and be on call most weekends
  • Must be a team player, fostering and growing business relationships with Sales, Scheduling, Transportation and cross-functional business units
  • Experience with E2Open, Shop Floor, ECS and SAP is preferred
  • Self-driven, Trustworthy, disciplined and focused with minimal supervision
  • Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Can perform the functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation
