TRANSPORTATION SUPERVISOR - Florence, KY

About the position

The position involves overseeing and executing daily operations within the transportation department, focusing on carrier supply chain programs to optimize costs. The role emphasizes safety, productivity, and engagement of hourly associates while ensuring operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities

• Assist in the oversight and execution of daily operations in the transportation department.
• Coordinate activities of third-party vendors.
• Supervise and develop a team of non-exempt associates in daily operations.
• Maintain on-time deliveries with a Full, Fresh and Friendly mindset.
• Collaborate with other DTC departments to coordinate schedules and deliveries.
• Follow established programs, policies, and practices to identify and address transportation/service opportunities.
• Assist in identifying/designing technology and procedural based solutions to increase associate's productivity.
• Support and communicate with other department supervisors and managers in problem solving.
• Communicate with the stores to solve delivery problems.
• Maintain record of mileage, fuel used, repairs made, and other expenses.
• Track trailers using Orbcomm technology.
• Establish delivery routes and maintain records of mileage and expenses.
• Execute the backhaul program with emphasis on O.R.A.D. compliance.
• Communicate with fellow supervisors and management on daily operations activities.
• Create a responsive and informed workforce through communication methods.
• Supervise and coach direct reports in the performance of their duties.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years of experience in Transportation, Distribution, or Manufacturing.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Strong understanding of D.O.T. compliance laws.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to respond to changing business priorities.
• Strong time management skills.
• Ability to prioritize/multi-task while providing accurate/on-time results.
• Ability to identify business problems and develop efficient solutions.
• Demonstrated ability to coach and train.
• Ability to collaborate and work cooperatively in a team-based environment.
• Strong understanding of industry/technical terms and processes.

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor's Degree preferred.
