About the position

The Transportation Supervisor at KeHE Distributors is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of product delivery, ensuring efficiency and cost-effectiveness while maintaining driver safety and compliance with regulations. This role involves supervising drivers, managing route changes, and ensuring effective communication with internal staff and customers. The position is integral to maintaining high standards of service and operational excellence within the transportation department.

Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day routing to maximize efficiency and customer service.
• Communicate proactively with internal and external contacts regarding route changes, delays, or early deliveries.
• Supervise the driver force and ensure proper training for drivers.
• Ensure driver logs are complete and accurate, adhering to DOT and OSHA regulations.
• Supervise DOT compliance using Driver Management Compliance software.
• Provide corrective coaching to drivers and transportation support staff.
• Effectively manage the backhaul program and update Inventory Management on availability changes.
• Ensure drivers complete all required documentation accurately.
• Maintain good attendance and safe work practices.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's Degree preferred.
• Two years of previous transportation/distribution experience required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is necessary.
• Strong supervisory skills to develop driver and support staff performance standards.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
