About the position

The Transportation Supervisor at Clean Earth is responsible for overseeing the transportation department, managing both on-site and remote technicians. This role involves ensuring efficient route scheduling, maintaining inventory supplies, and acting as a liaison between customer service and operations. The supervisor will also focus on enhancing customer service standards and managing staff performance to optimize resource utilization.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the transportation department and supervise on-site and remote Technicians.
  • Maintain and manage inventory supplies to ensure adequate inventories are always maintained.
  • Manage route scheduling to ensure all scheduled customers are serviced by the end of the day.
  • Redirect manpower and resources as required to service customers on routes with operational difficulties.
  • Manage the driver debrief process for every route and ensure documentation for every customer transaction.
  • Maintain high standards of customer service as measured by key metrics.
  • Manage open order reports to resolve service issues and customer interaction records.
  • Monitor operations and staff, recommending changes to improve productivity.
  • Review payroll hours to ensure efficiency and necessity of overtime hours.
  • Select, train, and develop an effective and diverse workforce.
  • Establish and communicate performance standards and conduct performance appraisals.
  • Coach employees on career development and departmental changes through team meetings.
  • Conduct ride-alongs and spot checks to ensure safe and productive operations.
  • Perform pre-employment screening and new CSR orientation.
  • Complete daily yard walks and track DOT hours.
  • Administer company policies and ensure compliance and safety among employees.
  • Conduct regularly scheduled safety meetings and oversee maintenance of Driver Qualification Files and DOT Log Files.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 3+ years of experience driving with a CDL B license
  • 1+ years of supervisory experience
  • Experience using integrated fleet, driver, and compliance management software

Nice-to-haves

  • In-depth knowledge of DOT regulations
  • Experience with JJ Keller software
  • Experience in the hazardous waste industry
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks to meet deadlines
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and coworkers
