About the position
The Transportation Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the transportation operations to ensure that annual performance goals are met, including on-time dispatches, labor costs, and product loss and damage. This role focuses on maintaining a safe working environment and developing daily operating plans to meet customer delivery needs while providing leadership and development to supervisory and driver staff.
Responsibilities
- Ensure annual performance goals are met, including on-time dispatches, off-load rate, labor cost, and product loss and damage.
- Execute company processes to maintain a safe working environment.
- Develop the daily operating plan, including equipment maintenance and driver work schedules.
- Promptly solve problems to maximize customer satisfaction.
- Provide development to supervisory and driver staff.
- Lead various committees, such as quality and safety.
- Partner with human resources to ensure appropriate staffing levels throughout the year.
Requirements
- Experience in transportation or logistics management.
- Strong leadership and team development skills.
- Ability to analyze performance metrics and implement improvements.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and customer service orientation.
