About the position
The Transportation Supervisor at Lipari Foods, LLC is responsible for managing transportation functions and serving as the primary contact for drivers in the region. This role involves addressing day-to-day issues faced by drivers, conducting meetings, overseeing equipment maintenance, and ensuring effective communication with third-party vendors. The position is crucial for maintaining operational efficiency and supporting the company's growth in the food distribution sector.
Responsibilities
- Helping drivers with day to day issues
- Conducting weekly meetings with drivers to address issues, questions, & concerns
- Aiding in the recruiting / hiring process
- Covering routes / shuttles when needed due to call offs or openings
- Accurately logging PO's, call offs, and pay issues
- Navigate and handle any customer issues that might arise
- Oversee equipment maintenance, appearance, and cleanliness
- Communicate with 3rd party vendors to ensure timeliness of repairs and maintenance
Requirements
- CDL A license
- 1 year of experience in a management or supervisory role
- 1 year & 50,000 verifiable miles driving a tractor trailer
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Strong leadership skills
- Microsoft Office skills
- Routing experience or extensive knowledge thereof
