About the position

The Transportation Supervisor at Clean Earth is responsible for overseeing the transportation department, managing both on-site and remote Technicians. This role acts as a liaison between customer service, operations, and the support team, ensuring efficient service delivery and high customer satisfaction in the environmental sustainability sector.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and manage inventory supplies to ensure adequate inventories are always maintained.
  • Manage route scheduling to ensure all scheduled customers are serviced by the end of the day.
  • Redirect manpower and resources as required to service customers on routes with operational difficulties.
  • Manage driver debrief process for every route, ensuring documentation for every customer transaction.
  • Maintain a high standard of customer service as measured by key metrics.
  • Manage open order report to resolve service issues.
  • Monitor operations and staff, recommending changes to optimize resource utilization.
  • Review payroll hours to ensure efficiency and necessity of overtime hours.
  • Select, train, and develop an effective and diverse workforce.
  • Establish and communicate performance standards and conduct performance appraisals.
  • Coach employees on career development and departmental changes through team meetings.
  • Conduct ride-alongs to ensure safe and efficient operations by CSRs.
  • Perform spot checks to reinforce proper CSR behavior and customer value communication.
  • Complete daily yard walk and track DOT hours.
  • Administer company policies and ensure compliance and safety among employees.
  • Conduct regularly scheduled safety meetings and oversee maintenance of Driver Qualification Files and DOT logs.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 3+ years of experience driving with CDL B license
  • 1+ years of supervisory experience
  • Experience using integrated fleet, driver, and compliance management software.

Nice-to-haves

  • In-depth knowledge of DOT regulations
  • Experience with JJ Keller software
  • Experience in the hazardous waste industry
  • Ability to deal politely and professionally with customers and coworkers
  • Ability to manage several tasks simultaneously to meet deadlines
  • Ability to use a computer for communication and information access.
