Responsibilities

  • Determine property boundaries
  • Prepare deeds and maps
  • Utilize computer-aided design and mapping (CAD/CAM) systems for calculations and map production
  • Maintain accurate title records, reports, vesting documents, and other related documentation
  • Conduct research and analysis of ownership records, title reports, recorded maps, survey notes, and vesting documents for boundary determination

Requirements

  • Possess a valid California driver's license
  • Ability to travel around the state for a week at a time
  • Ability to carry 50 lbs. across a distance on steep and uneven terrain
  • Meet the minimum qualifications for a Transportation Surveyor (Caltrans)
  • Experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS), specifically ESRI products

Nice-to-haves

  • Proficiency in computer-aided design and mapping (CAD/CAM) systems
  • Experience preparing legal descriptions and deeds
  • Experience with ArcGIS (ArcMap and ArcPro) and related GIS tools
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail-oriented approach with a focus on quality
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Proficiency in spreadsheet software, surveying software, Microsoft Office 365
