The Transportation Systems Analyst plays a crucial role in supporting the Transportation Department's operational and strategic initiatives through various technology platforms, including the Transportation Management System (TMS), FourKites for tracking and tracing, Electronic Log Device (ELD) for driver hours of service, and Yard Management System (YMS). This position is essential for ensuring the optimized usage and maintenance of these transportation systems, as well as maintaining data integrity and effective communication of processes to end-users. The analyst will be responsible for day-to-day operations and process initiatives, which include designing and developing functional processes, procedures, and reports using Supply Chain data for end users who manage carrier, financial, and operational performance. Effective communication with Supply Chain teams, the Information Technology group, and remote Distribution Centers is vital for success in this role. In this position, the analyst will deploy, maintain, troubleshoot, and support core business technology applications, working closely with IT, end users, and third-party software providers. They will document, troubleshoot, and test new and enhanced functionalities within the applications. As a subject matter expert for Transportation processes, the analyst will lead and participate in the development and process improvement of projects that support business initiatives within transportation logistics and its related applications. This includes cross-functional development of new programs, processes, and procedures, as well as research and analysis of current business processes. The analyst will also work with IT teams to determine scope and system requirements, create standard operating procedures (SOP) documentation, conduct system testing, user acceptance testing, and provide end-user training. The role requires maintaining key data elements and configuration of transportation-related platforms, including shipment planning, freight payment, dispatch, and driver payment. The analyst will gather, analyze, prioritize, organize, and document requirements from subject matter experts, create reports using SQL and related technologies, and perform data validation and mapping to support Transportation initiatives. Collaboration with ancillary departments and external partners is essential to support the business goals of these units. The analyst will also translate technical specifications into clear non-technical requirements and provide training and support to end users on new and enhanced processes. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
