About the position

Urban Engineers is seeking Transportation Construction Technical Assistants (TA-1 and TA-2) to join their Construction Management Department for highway construction projects in various locations across Pennsylvania. The role involves inspecting highways and bridges to ensure compliance with plans and specifications, documenting daily contractor activities, and facilitating communication between the inspection team, contractor, and client. This position requires both fieldwork and the use of electronic devices for reporting and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Inspect highways and bridges to ensure construction conforms to plans and specifications.
• Document daily field activities performed by the contractor.
• Act as a representative for the client during inspections.
• Communicate daily with the inspection team, contractor, and client.
• Complete Project Site Activity (PSA) reports using electronic tablets and computers.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read, write, and perform basic math computations.
• Basic computer skills for using electronic tablets and computers.
• Ability to navigate construction sites in various terrains and weather conditions.
• Valid driver's license and own vehicle for duty-related driving.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in construction or engineering fields.
• Familiarity with construction drawings and specifications.
