About the position
The Transporter/Driver position at Coastal Plains Integrated Health involves providing safe transportation for adults and children receiving services at the center. The role requires interaction with clients in a therapeutic manner while ensuring their comfort and safety during transport. The position also includes maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the transport vehicle and reporting client conditions to healthcare staff. This role is essential in supporting the mission of enhancing personal growth in the community through support and advocacy.
Responsibilities
- Safely transport patients between various locations, including clinics and homes.
- Assist patients with boarding and exiting the vehicle, ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the transport vehicle.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare staff to ensure timely patient transfers.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures during transport.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED certificate.
- Current Class C operator's license with a good driving record as verified by DPS.
Nice-to-haves
- Knowledge of motor vehicle operations, passenger loading and unloading methods, and traffic regulations.
- Ability to follow schedules and instructions in operating vehicles.
- Knowledge of individual needs/characteristics associated with disabilities.
- Knowledge of vehicle scheduled maintenance and ability to monitor maintenance needs.
