The Transporter position at St. Francis Hospital involves the safe transportation of patients within the hospital campus, ensuring a therapeutic environment. This part-time role requires flexibility to work on weekends and holidays as needed, and it emphasizes safety and proper lifting techniques while assisting patients.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients on stretchers, beds, and wheelchairs to designated areas within the hospital campus.
• Observe and report safety hazards and broken vehicles to the Lead Transporter for immediate repair.
• Promptly report any concerns regarding patients during transport to appropriate personnel.
• Assist in lifting patients in and out of beds as requested, using proper lifting techniques.
• Clean wheelchairs and ensure adequate availability in each area.
• Maintain an incident log of transports.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalency (required).
• CPR Certification issued by AHA.
• Fingerprint & Child Abuse History Clearance (completed during onboarding once hired).
