About the position

HCA Houston Healthcare Medical Center is seeking a Transporter to join their team. This role involves performing transportation functions in a safe and professional manner according to established standards and practices. The Transporter will be responsible for transporting patients, specimens, and equipment, as well as assisting patients and visitors at the hospital and clinics. The position requires dedication to caring for the well-being of others and creating positive patient interactions.

Responsibilities

  • Transport patients to and from clinical, ancillary and support areas via wheelchair, stretcher or van service as requested.
  • Assist clinical personnel in transferring patients to and from beds, wheelchairs or stretchers as requested.
  • Maintain established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
  • Clean, sterilize and/or disinfect areas and/or equipment.
  • Enhance professional growth and development through participating in educational programs, current literature, workshops, and in-service meetings.
  • Actively participate in the TQM process and present creative solutions to processes.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
