About the position

The Trauma Operations Coordinator at Nuvance Health is responsible for coordinating and overseeing all aspects of trauma operations within Danbury Hospital. This role involves working closely with the Trauma Medical Director and Trauma Manager to ensure a multidisciplinary approach to trauma care is maintained throughout the continuum of care. The coordinator will play a vital role in organizing services and systems necessary for effective trauma care, including trauma network survivor support and post-traumatic stress syndrome screening. The position requires a strong focus on maintaining trauma team standards of care and ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines and standards. In this role, the coordinator will provide essential administrative support to the trauma operation team, which includes scheduling meetings, managing calendars, and handling correspondence. They will assist in organizing and maintaining documentation related to trauma patient care, treatment plans, and procedures. Effective communication between medical staff, nurses, and other healthcare professionals involved in trauma patient care is crucial, and the coordinator will facilitate this communication. The Trauma Operations Coordinator will also prepare reports, presentations, and other materials to support the activities of the trauma operation team. They will help coordinate training sessions and educational programs for staff members on trauma care protocols and best practices. Additionally, the coordinator will support the implementation of quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing trauma care services. Inventory management of supplies and equipment used in trauma operations is another key responsibility, including placing orders as necessary. The coordinator will coordinate on-call services across the continuum of trauma care and is responsible for distributing them across the hospital. They will act as the onsite Coordinator for the Trauma Survivors Network at Danbury Hospital and maintain the trauma survivor network. Participation in the post-traumatic screening program, which includes data collection and patient screening, is also a significant aspect of this role. The coordinator will fulfill all compliance responsibilities related to the position and perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Proven experience in an administrative support role, preferably in a healthcare or medical setting.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other relevant software applications.
