About the position

The Trauma Program Manager at Covenant Health is responsible for overseeing trauma care services in accordance with national and state regulatory standards. This role involves collaboration with various medical directors and committees to ensure high-quality trauma care for the community. The manager will lead the Trauma Care Committee, review and update policies, and ensure compliance with treatment modalities while providing education and support to staff and patients.

Responsibilities

• Act as Chairperson of the Trauma Care Committee.
• Review and update manuals and policies related to trauma care.
• Follow up with Trauma Team Activations and Trauma Alerts.
• Ensure patient and family education and discharge needs are met during hospital admission.
• Prepare and present Quarterly Statistical and Annual Reports to the Trauma Care Committee.
• Collaborate with staff, providers, and regulatory agencies to maintain high-quality trauma care.
• Perform chart reviews on all Trauma Team Activations and Trauma Alerts for compliance and data collection.
• Oversee data entry into the Trauma Registry.
• Work with Quality and Resource Management to maintain a continuous performance improvement program.
• Provide semi-annual educational sessions for ED nursing and provider staff.
• Assist in developing and delivering pre-hospital educational sessions regarding trauma treatment.

Requirements

• Current NH nursing license required.
• Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) certification required.
• Certified Advanced Trauma Nurse (CATN) preferred.
• Graduate from an approved School of Nursing preferred.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 2 or more years of clinical experience in an emergency department with demonstrated ability in trauma care preferred.
• Membership in a professional organization preferred.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of State Standards and National Guidelines pertaining to Trauma Care preferred.
