About the position
Aya Healthcare has an immediate opening for the position of Anesthesia Tech in Tampa, FL. This role is essential in providing support to anesthesia providers in various settings, including ambulatory operating rooms and trauma situations. The Anesthesia Tech will be responsible for preparing and maintaining anesthesia equipment, assisting with patient intubation, and ensuring the safety and efficiency of the operating room environment. The position requires a strong understanding of anesthesia machines, endotracheal tubes, and various monitoring equipment, as well as the ability to respond effectively in critical situations. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of experience in a similar role and will be expected to demonstrate proficiency in operating room safety protocols, including infection control and sterilization procedures. The assignment is for a duration of 13 weeks, with shifts scheduled for five 8-hour days from 06:00 to 14:30. Responsibilities
- Assist anesthesia provider in critical situations
- Prepare and maintain anesthesia equipment
- Perform anesthesia machine check out and troubleshooting
- Set up operating room for first case and manage room turnover
- Ensure sterilization of equipment and adherence to safety protocols
- Monitor patients and assist with intubation and other procedures
- Maintain knowledge of operating room safety including electrical, fire, and infection control
- Provide support in pediatric and trauma cases
- Utilize various anesthesia-related tools and equipment effectively
Requirements
- At least one year of experience as an Anesthesia Tech
- Proficiency in operating room procedures and safety protocols
- Experience with anesthesia machines and monitoring equipment
- Ability to assist in emergency intubations and critical care situations
- Knowledge of sterilization and disinfection processes
- Familiarity with pediatric and trauma anesthesia procedures
Nice-to-haves
