About the position
The Travel Anesthesia Technician position at Aya Healthcare is designed to address workforce disruptions in California, specifically from November 18-22. This role involves providing critical support in anesthesia care, ensuring continuity of patient care during a high-demand period. Technicians will be required to work a guaranteed 36 hours, with travel and housing covered for eligible candidates. The position offers competitive daily pay and requires a California license and relevant experience.
Responsibilities
- Assist anesthesia provider in critical situations
- Perform emergency intubations and manage light wand and cricothyrotomy sets
- Conduct intubation using LMA and ET tubes
- Insert IVs and position patients for procedures
- Transport patients and manage anesthesia machines
- Check out and troubleshoot anesthesia machines
- Ensure operating room safety including electrical, fire, and infection control
- Set up rooms for first cases and manage room turnover
- Document procedures and adhere to isolation precautions
- Follow radiation safety and sterilization/disinfection protocols
Requirements
- BLS Certification
- California License required
- At least 1 year of hospital experience in anesthesiology
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in ambulatory OR settings
- Familiarity with standard monitors and transport equipment
