About The Position

The Travel Auditor, Research Analyst at Chenega Corporation will provide essential support to the Defense Travel Administrator (DTA) for the Strategic Systems Programs (SPS) Department. This role involves conducting audits of travel documents, ensuring compliance with regulations, and maintaining confidentiality while reporting potential fraud. The analyst will also prepare various reports and assist in research to enhance knowledge in the area of travel management.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Possess and maintain a Secret Clearance.
  • Previous experience with SSP DTS and MyTravel.
  • Knowledge of transportation management systems or other database hardware and software.
  • Ability to interface with various authorities such as Comptroller and Travel Assistance Center.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret written and verbal requests.
  • Demonstrate basic problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Above average computer skills including Microsoft Office tools.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Navy Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
  • Familiarity with Defense Travel Management Office (DTMO) systems.
  • Knowledge of Citibank online Commercial Cards and Visa IntelliLink System.

Responsibilities

  • Perform monthly audits of at least 30 travel documents.
  • Issue Notice of Violation to travelers or users if violations are identified, citing regulations or policies.
  • Inquire to obtain information regarding expenses claimed and validate receipts to ensure travel documents are legal and correct.
  • Assist with Branch and Field Activity (FA) Audits and prepare reports upon request.
  • Report encounters of potentially fraudulent activities to the LDTA or SP16 BH for further investigation.
  • Maintain confidentiality of information acquired during audit duties.
  • Provide qualified or unqualified opinions on travel documents.
  • Perform research to increase knowledge in the area of travel management.
  • Generate and format reports as directed, ensuring compliance with timelines specified in SSPINST 4650.
  • Present research results to LDTA or SP16 BH.
