About the position

The Travel Baseball Coach position at Diamond & Aces Sports Center involves leading and coaching youth baseball teams for the 2024 Winter/Spring Season. Coaches are expected to provide guidance, develop players' skills, and promote teamwork and sportsmanship. The role requires commitment from December through June, with practices and tournaments scheduled primarily on evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise the team
• Promote an appreciation of hard work, teamwork, and sportsmanship
• Manage team rosters
• Plan and schedule practices
• Teach and motivate players in a positive environment
• Develop players' skills
• Conduct player selection during tryouts
• Run team practices, scrimmages, games, and other team events
• Make game line-ups and in-game decisions
• Communicate directly with all players and parents
• Travel to weekend tournaments
• Assist the head coach with team organization

Requirements

• Experience coaching and/or playing baseball
• Ability to work with children ages 8-18
• High school diploma or GED
• Valid First Aid Certification

Nice-to-haves

• College degree
• Existing experience coaching travel/tournament baseball
